From mid 2025, Extra Hand Solar Clean have added Biocide Roof Treatment & Roof Cleans as an additional service to our existing offerings, further protecting your solar panels from being contaminated by damaging natural growths and deposits.
Our specialised roof treatments are less hazardous to plants and greenery than applying traditional, old fashioned and highly corrosive solutions containing Sodium Hydroxide (S.H.). These roof treatments will also prevent regrowth of naturally occurring lichen, algae and mould for an extended period, often measured in years. Treatment can also be applied to other external surfaces.
Our Services
Extra Hand Solar Clean is a fully equipped mobile service, travelling far and wide to service our customers. Our main customer base is in the Sydney metro area, we have travelled to rural locations for some of our work in places such as residential, farming and industrial sites.
Much of our quoting can be done remotely, depending on the size and scale of the project, at no additional cost to our customers.
During works, you can be assured that we have all the appropriate business insurances for your peace of mind.
When completing our solar panel cleaning, we use the latest equipment such as multistage water filtration, complete with insulated carbon fibre poles for electrical safety, and advanced rotary brushes (for larger installations), capable of cleaning many times quicker than a manual hand clean. We also follow manufacturers cleaning guidelines ensuring panel warranty is not affected.
Whilst performing pressure cleaning, the equipment we have is hot water capable, and can be adjusted to higher or lower pressures depending on the surfaces being cleaned.
Extra Hand Solar Clean perform roof treatment for your roof (or roof utility area as we call it) using purpose-built equipment which can pump solutions 60 metres reaching up to 3 storeys high at any one time with ease.
We say “roof utility area” because a roofs purpose in modern times is to not only protect the occupants from the elements, but mount equipment such as solar panels, hot water services and other useful features.
Treatment solutions used are mixed with precision when being made, ensuring effectiveness, longevity and safety. We can make solutions onsite enabling us to tackle the larger jobs without a problem.

Environmental & Warranty
Our method is CHEMICAL FREE in respect to solar panel cleaning. With the use of onboard water filtration, we reduce dissolved solids and other contaminants such as chlorine and salts to less than 1 part per million. The combination of filtered water and chemical free cleaning provides a mirror-like finish, this method is preferred by many solar panel manufacturers to ensure consumer product and performance warranties are not voided or effected.
Faults With Your System
We can perform a limited physical inspection of your solar installation, reporting to you any faults and damage observed, often with the latest aerial imagery. This report could include cracked and damaged solar cells, hot spots, damaged or loose connections and mountings. With anything we find, we have the contacts to rectify and offer advice on a solution. A physical inspection such as this does not require the services of an electrician or installer, further reducing your maintenance spend*
