Vintage Roof Treatment Project – Earlwood

This Earlwood property featured a tiled roof with significant lichen contamination, particularly on the west-facing solar panels at the rear of the home. The north-facing panels were affected but to a lesser degree.

The panels, approximately 10 years old, underwent careful lichen removal followed by a professional pure-water clean. Shortly after the service, the customer reported midday peak power output levels not seen since 2021 — a strong indicator of restored system performance.

With improved government battery rebates now available, the homeowner is preparing to install battery storage to maximise solar gains.

Several weeks later, we returned to apply a biocide roof treatment to address widespread lichen across the tiled roof. We will continue monitoring the roof and panels over coming months and provide future updates on the treatment’s effectiveness.
