Solar Clean Barden Ridge

Extra Hand Solar Clean recently completed a full clean and inspection of a 32-panel solar system for a residential customer in Barden Ridge, located within the Sutherland Shire.

Summary of Work

• Professional cleaning of all 32 rooftop solar panels

• Full visual inspection of panels, cabling, hardware, and inverter area

• Photos taken on top and underneath the panels

• Real-time performance readings taken before and after cleaning

Condition on Arrival

When we attended, the solar panels showed:

• Lichen contamination beginning to form

• A visible layer of dust and dirt impacting solar efficiency

• Windy conditions with full cloud cover (ideal for accurate before/after comparisons)

No chemical residue, nesting, or debris was found under the panels.

Performance Improvement

To demonstrate the true benefit of a professional clean, inverter readings were taken immediately before and after:

Pre-clean readings:
• 2,862 W – 3,025 W

Post-clean readings (same cloud cover):
• 4,177 W – 4,371 W

This reflects a clear and measurable improvement, purely from removing lichen and surface contamination.

Inspection Findings

Our full rooftop inspection included:

• No cracked panels

• No loose or damaged wiring

• No visible evidence of electrical faults such as burnt cables or exposed wires

• No pests, birds, or nesting found

• No error codes present at the inverter

• Roof tiles in good order with small amount of lichen present. My need biocide treatment soon (advised to customer)

All findings were explained to the customer on-site, with supporting photos provided.

Customer Outcome

The customer was extremely happy with both the performance boost and the thoroughness of the inspection. She appreciated knowing her system was safe and clean — and that her husband didn’t need to risk climbing the roof himself.
